Humbly Assisting Humanity (HAH) is proud to announce its 3rd Annual Pancakes & PJs Winter Celebration, taking place on Saturday, December 13th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center in Wilmington. In collaboration with Raw Gems, this cozy, family-friendly event invites youth and families from across New Castle County to enjoy a joyful afternoon of winter-themed activities while supporting HAH’s mission to eliminate disparities in hunger by expanding access to food, essentials, and resources in under-served communities throughout Delaware.
Pancakes & PJs offers families a free, delicious pancake breakfast, festive music, games, activities, and high-quality free pajamas for children. Beyond providing immediate support, the event nurtures community connection and celebrates neighbors coming together to care for one another. Through initiatives like Pancakes & PJs, HAH continues its year-round work to reduce food insecurity, provide essential resources, and strengthen community well-being.

“Pancakes & PJs is more than a winter celebration, it’s an opportunity for families to feel valued, supported, and connected,” said Shantel Love, Founder & CEO. “By creating a warm, joyful space, we’re able to meet immediate needs while also linking families with ongoing resources that support their overall well-being.”

This year’s celebration will feature:
  • A free pancake breakfast for all attendees
  • Music, games, and winter-themed activities
  • Free pajamas for children, while supplies last
  • Access to community resources and support services
  • A welcoming environment that embodies joy, dignity, and care

Humbly Assisting Humanity is grateful for the support of its sponsors, including AmeriHealth Caritas, the City of Wilmington Department of Parks & Recreation, City of Wilmington Councilmembers Christian Willauer, Coby Owens, and Shané Darby, Cornerstone West CDC, Date & Maple Cafe, Delaware Blue Coats, Herr Foods, Impact Life Delaware, James Taylor, New Castle County Council President Monique Johns, Out of the Ordinary Catering, Turning Point Restaurants, and Wegmans, whose contributions make this event possible.
