Humbly Assisting Humanity, together with One Step at a Time Foundation, joyfully presents the 2nd Annual Pancakes and PJs Winter Celebration. New this year is an additional date and location, both with the classic brunch & pancake breakfast, pajamas & winter item distribution, and fun activities for the whole family. Pancakes and PJs was born in the winter of 2023 out of the desire to fill the gaps of the food and housing insecure families. Founder and Executive Director Shantel Love and her children met many of these families while providing food and necessities for them during her free time throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Love states, “With limited resources, we focused on meeting the immediate needs of food and housing, but the overwhelming challenges left us determined to do more. Despite these obstacles, we were driven by a desire to spread hope and joy. Our first PJ giveaway was met with such incredible reactions that it inspired us to dream bigger. Today, at our Pancakes and PJs event, families will not only be served a warm meal and essential winter items, but also experience the joy of community, fun, and togetherness.”
After a successful inaugural year at the William Hicks Anderson Community Center with over 200 in attendance and over 100 pajamas and gift cards were provided to those in need, Humbly Assisting Humanity returns to Wilmington on two dates and locations this year to spread warmth and joy this winter:
Guests can expect the the same festive experience during both events:
